Action SA Expresses Strong Objection to DA, IFP, and ANC Coalition's Expenditure Decisions in EThekwini Municipality

On 25 June 2024, Action SA Provincial Chairperson Zwakele Mncwango and eThekwini Municipality Executive released a media brief immediate statement, that put more details on why the political party Action SA Condemns irresponsible spending by eThekwini Municipality which is DA/IFP/ANC Coalition spending.


Mr Mncwango took it to social media expressing how disappointed they are as Action SA about the proposed spending plan proposal by ANC/DA /IFP and NFP Coalition.



Mr Mncwango posted on social media, that the struggle continues, " today l am facing the ANC / DA/IFP and NFP coalition in eThekwini council.


He continues, to emphasize that these groups that these political parties that are in Coliation at eThekwini Municipality agreed on buying the VIP Protection cars for R25 million


It is clear that they want to be monitored and that the council agreed to provide to work with R9 million to do activation in New York Mncwango explained.


Action SA strongly rejects the eThekwini Metro Municipality's recent proposal to allocate an estimated amount 25 million towards a fleet of security and Protection security vehicles. As well as an additional R20 million for providing vehicles for various municipality departments, Action SA considered this decision as fiscally irresponsible spending displaying poor government


Action SA which was Statement which was issued by Mr Mncwango continues to explain how disappointed they are as an Action SA party, about this proposal, especially with the Democratic Alliance (DA) which previously opposed this purchase before, has now aligned with their coalition partners, the African National Congress is also supporting the R25 million vehicle acquisition


City Fleet Mobeni workshop which Action SA claims they conducted during the previous years and in their statement revealed that the workshop is under-resourced which many resources require only minor repairs


Action SA strongly opposed the Municipality Metro proposal to host the 2024 resurgence conference which is estimated to cost R9 million which may escalate if it is negotiated.


Action SA visited the City fleet Mobeni Workshop, which was conducted in the previous year revealed that the workshop is critically under-resourced, with many vehicles requiring only minor injury, Mr. Mncwango further explained in their opposing statement, that Action SA proposes that these funds should be redirected towards repairing dilapidated infrastructure throughout the city, bringing the relief and much-needed services to people of Tongaat who were devastated by a tornado, which displaced hundreds of residences



An immediate media statement which was realised by Action SA Chairperson Mr. Zwakele Mncwango which emphasizes that they are rejecting the coalition spending by DA / IFP / ANC and NFP at EThekwini Metro Municipality in buying security vehicles for R25 million rands and the cost of hosting resurgence conference which is estimated to cost R9 million.
