FLOYD SHIVAMBU DROPS A BOMBSHELL AS HE ANNOUNCES HE IS LEAVING THE EFF TO JOIN THE MK PARTY
Economic Freedom Fighter Deputy President and Chief Whip in Parliament Floyd Shivambu will not renew the membership of the EFF as he will be joining the MK Party soon. Shivambu has served as the party's deputy president since the EFF party's inception in 2013. He dropped the news in an emergency press conference that was hosted at Marshalltown on Thursday, 15 August 2024 at 12;00. EFF President Julius Malema was one of the officials who attended the EFF emergency press conference.
The news of Floyd Shivambu that he will be leaving the EFF Party has resurfaced on social media before the official announcement by the EFF Officials. At the press conference, he announced that he had sent the letter ,"media good afternoon, we have called this press conference as the officials of the EFF to publicly read out the letter which I have sent yesterday to the president and commander in chief in terms of the politics in South Africa, I am going to read the letter word per word so that there are no speculations in terms of the basis upon which we are communicating, '' he said in the conference opening.
He said that the president chairperson of Ward 44 Johannesburg had informed him that his membership in the EFF has elapsed and, he said please be informed that he will be not renewing his membership of EFF as a member of parliament and all positions in the EFF, he will only do so after receiving a go-ahead from the organization because it, is the EFF mandate that has deployed him into the Parliament and he cherishes that.
Shivambu appreciates the work that they have collectively done as the EFF and building a formidable organization, he continues to mention that EFF has acted outside its democratic and with its decisions. Shivambu made it clear during the public announcement that leaving EFF has no vote of confidence in the organization, but it is a revoluntary act that will allow progressive forces to unite and work towards the agenda for progress and change.
In the closing of the letter he wished for an EFF full prosperity and success, '' I wish the EFF fully prosperity and success, and Ground forces will accept a very difficult decision I have taken , the struggle and the war for freedom will never be compromised by an individual'' he said

Shivambu said that there is no specific position or commitment that has been assigned to him that has been offered to him by the MK Party, promise to deployment in Parliament or anything. It's a decision that he has taken, he believes that it will add meaningful value to progressive and revolutionary politics that must be pursued by all the progressive forces in South Africa.
Malema has accepted Deputy President Shivambu's decision of him, to leave the EFF party to join the MK party ,'' I stand before you the decision of the Deputy President of the EFF who voluntarily resigned from his position and did not renew his membership when he sent me a letter yesterday,'' I felt the same pain when I have received the news of the passing away of my mother because Floyld to me is not just a comrade but he is a brother and he will remain a brother even when he pursues his political careers differently,'' he said in his speech.

Malema has also emphasized to Shivambu that the decision him resigning from the EFF is like is equal to resigning from himself, as they have formed this organization together, this is his organization the constitution does not allow people to resign and join other political parties and come back to the party but he has allowed him to do so because Shivambu is not the member of the EFF but a founder of the organization.
