The Champion won 100m bare stroke and trailing by half a second through the race, half a meter behind in the last scratch but she came back with full force to Snatch a Gold Medal for Mzansi
An outstanding moment for 27-year-old Olympic champion Tatjana Smith as she grabs the first gold medal for South Africa with her stunning surge in the 100m break stroke in the Paris La Defense Arena Pool.
''I wouldn't say comfortable but I am just so grateful for swimming and having good times I haven't been close to my time since Tokyo, so this is my best time since Tokyo it is amazing to swim and make good times, I am enjoying every race. It doesn't matter what the times are I think me experiencing this race, I am really happy and it is exactly where I want to be this time'', she said.
She represented South Africa in the Paris Olympics in a swimming race where she swiftly finished with a time of 1.05.28 and took the overall three medals. She is a former world record break stroke and is the African record holder in the long course 100m as well as the Short course 200m break stroke. She won a gold medal and set the world record 200m and also won a gold medal in the 200m break stroke.
Tatjana is now in a chance of winning 20m gold in a few days time.
